Pesticides & Fungicide
Safer® Yard & Garden Insect Killer
Insecticidal soap combined with pyrethrins, a botanical insecticide derived from a member of the daisy family. This is a great all-around product for garden use, although you'll want to keep it well away from the water garden as pyrethrins are toxic to fish. Kills aphids, mites, caterpillars, mealybugs, scale, thrips, flea beetles, etc., etc., etc.
Ultra-Fine® Year-Round Pesticidal Oil
Safe for use on all manner of plants, this earth-friendly horticultural oil gives excellent control of a huge range of pests and can be used right up to harvest. There is no better control for scale insects, and it's what we recommend to our customers when they bring us sad little samples from azaleas decimated by lace bugs. Great for spider mites, too. It is an oil, however light, so you'll want to spray houseplants on a porch or deck, not indoors!
100% Neem Oil
Neem oil is a broad-spectrum contact insecticide, working on insects, mites, and nematodes. What it doesn't kill it discourages by acting as an antifeedant (meaning it suppresses insect feeding) and repellent. Neem also performs as a systemic pesticide when applied as a soil drench three or more times over a couple of weeks. We've gotten good control of the dreaded spider mite on very mite-prone tropicals using 100% neem oil as a systemic. Neem oil also functions as a fungicide. Applied as a foliar spray it has proven effective as a contact fungicide to control mildew and leaf spot problems. Applied as a soil drench it counters harmful root fungus. Because plants seem to readily take up neem after several drenches, it can offer systemic protection against fungal problems, too.
Milky Spore Japanese Beetles are one of the gardener's worst enemies. Milky Spore is an all-natural organic bacterium which is fatal to Japanese beetle grubs, but is environmentally safe for humans, pets and beneficial insects, including earthworms. It kills Japanese Beetles while they are still in the grub stage before they can damage your plants and reproduce. Once established in your soil, Milky Spore is guaranteed to last for 10 years, making it an easy and cost-effective way to get rid of the beetles. You can use it in your lawn, in your garden and mulched beds.
Thuricide®
Nature's caterpillar control. A concentrate of Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki, Thuricide kills only leaf-eating caterpillars and worms. The product is mixed with water and sprayed thoroughly on infested plants. The caterpillars eat the bacteria-coated leaves and seal their doom: the ingested bacteria paralyze the gut of the caterpillar, causing its death in 2-3 days.
Sluggo®
Kills snails and slugs yet is completely safe around pets and wildlife, unlike other snail and slug baits. An easy-to-use granular product composed of a unique blend of a naturally occurring iron phosphate and slug and snail baits, Sluggo remains effective even after rain. What the critters don't eat eventually decomposes harmlessly into your garden soil.
Organocide
Organocide is a nature-safe organic insecticide and fungicide effective on a wide variety of insects, mites, armored and soft scales, and certain fungal diseases. This product gives the home gardener several advantages:
•Safe: replaces many "hard" pesticides, no re-entry time, can even spray at harvest time or indoors, poses no risk to the environment, EPA exempt.
•Effective: the proven choice of horticultural professionals nationwide.
•Unique: patented blend of sesame and fish oils, heavier and more effective than other oils yet is safer to the plants, no solvents.
Organocide is sold in a 32oz. concentrate bottle and should be diluted to 2oz. per gallon of water. This product retails for $24.99 each

Safer® Garden Fungicide
From the Safer folks, well known for earth-friendly products, comes a modern spray bottle of one of the oldest forms of garden fungicide - sulfur. Safe for use on all plants including edible ones like strawberries, Safer Fungicide controls powdery mildew, black spot and rust. Don't use it on spinach, Boston ferns, walnuts or viburnum, though - they're sensitive to sulfur and will suffer leaf burn.
