Owner
Duncan Borders
Duncan started working at Moore & Moore during his college years at Belmont University, doing what you see our young folks doing here now: helping lift, load, and educate customers on best practices. After completing his degree in Business Management (1998), he started full-time, assisting with the business. Eight years later he would be presented with the opportunity to purchase Moore & Moore Garden Center, and as the grandson of the original founding owners, John and Nell Moore, became the 3rd generation Moore family owner!
Since that time, the business has continued to grow in leaps and bounds- adding landscaping services and an impressive 4,300 sq. foot greenhouse which offers covered shopping. Moore and Moore has also become known for carrying extensive pottery lines and is a great local resource for home decor and garden gifts.
If Duncan isn’t Cultivating Lifestyles here, he can be found coaching his son’s baseball teams or cheering for the Vols and Titans.
General Manager
ROBYN BROWN
Robyn Brown has been with Moore & Moore for 19 years. She watched the greenhouse go up where there was once only a gravel lot, saw the Landscape Department come into being, and watched two shop cats get adopted (Kit and Kash). Robyn is a shade specialist and Master Gardener who has had a front cover and article in Fine Gardening Magazine, Southern Living Magazine and has appeared in one of the most-viewed segments on PBS Volunteer Gardener. She was also a consultant for the Governor’s mansion. Robyn stays busy running the daily operations of the store and greenhouse and handles most of the interfacing and communications with our growers.
When Robyn isn’t Cultivating Lifestyles here, she is visiting gardens all over the world to wherever her musician-husband takes her!
Landscape Manager
BRAD WILLIAMS
Brad might as well be family. He started working at Moore & Moore Garden Center as a teenager, helping on the lot and learning the trade, which would eventually groom him for the next phase of his venture as his own boss. Boasting 12 years in the business, 7 of them have been with Moore & Moore where he spurred on exceptional growth by offering a broad range of services. Brad has a great eye for design and translates your vision into real-life application while offering advice on best practices for your individual design plan. Brad can design with color and longevity in mind and specializes in trees and shrubs: pruning, identifying disease, and fertilizing. When Brad isn’t Cultivating Lifestyles here, he is shooting clay targets, gardening, camping and doing just about anything outdoors.
